Versatile small wind solutions for the modern consumer

To some, wind power may still appear exotic and complex, but it doesn’t have to be so in reality. Freen is a trusted supplier of the latest-generation, compact wind turbines that are fast to build, easy to deploy, and a breeze to maintain.

Current state and prospects of wind energy in Europe

Europe

Wind energy is currently one of the fastest-growing sources of renewable energy in Europe. The continent has a strong commitment to combating climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and wind power plays a crucial role in achieving these goals.

In terms of capacity, Europe is a global leader in wind energy. According to the European Wind Energy Association, the total installed capacity of wind power in Europe reached 255 GW by the end of 2022. It is projected that European countries will install 129 GW of new wind farms in 2023-2027 (with the EU-27 group responsible for about 98 GW of that capacity). Three quarters of the new capacity additions over 2023-27 will be onshore.

The current state and future prospects of wind energy in Europe are extremely promising. The European Union has set a target to increase the share of renewable energy to at least 32% by 2030, and wind power is expected to play a significant role in meeting this target.

With supportive policies, technological advancements, and a growing commitment to renewable energy, wind power is expected to continue playing a crucial role in Europe’s energy transition — and Freen strives to be at its very forefront.
